Red Bull has extended Alan Permane’s contract as Racing Bulls team principal through the 2031 season, Chris Medland reported for RACER on Nov. 6, 2026. The extension also covers his co-CEO Sporting role, with Peter Bayer serving as co-CEO Commercial.
Permane was promoted to team principal when Laurent Mekies moved to Red Bull to replace Christian Horner, Medland reported. RACER compared his extension with the one Mekies signed at Red Bull in October 2026.
Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull’s CEO of corporate projects and investments, praised Permane’s leadership and described the partnership with Bayer as a source of continuity.
“Together with Peter Bayer as Co-CEO Commercial, Alan forms a strong and experienced leadership team,” Mintzlaff said in comments reported by RACER. “They complement each other exceptionally well, bringing different strengths and perspectives to the organization.”
The championship objective remained unfinished. In its Nov. 6 report, RACER put Racing Bulls 39 points clear of Alpine as it pursued fifth place in the constructors’ championship for the first time in its history.
Permane credited the wider team for that position: “Fighting for fifth in the championship is something we should all be very proud of, but it is the result of years of hard work from a lot of people, and we are not done yet.”
