Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll stay with Aston Martin for 2027

Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will remain Aston Martin’s Formula 1 driver pairing in 2027, Formula 1 confirmed.

Both drivers have extended their contracts, Autosport reports. Alonso’s previous agreement was due to expire at the end of the 2026 season. The new deal keeps the 45-year-old in F1 for another campaign, following months of questions about his future.

Alonso joined Aston Martin from Alpine for the 2023 season. Stroll, who arrived from Williams, is set for his ninth season with the Silverstone team, according to the same report.

Explaining the decision, Lawrence Stroll pointed to the value that the two drivers’ experience, commitment and knowledge bring to the organisation. The announcement settles the team’s lineup for 2027.
