Michael Wilbon is taking an indefinite leave from his ESPN on-air roles because of “struggles with multiple health issues,” The Athletic reported on Nov. 2. Wilbon is a longtime co-host of “Pardon The Interruption” and an ESPN NBA analyst. TSN Sports reported that he has co-hosted the show with Tony Kornheiser for 25 years.
ESPN PR said the network supports Wilbon and looks forward to his return to “Pardon The Interruption” and NBA coverage. The post introduced a statement from ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. A description of The Athletic’s article says Wilbon put no timetable on his return to the show or other broadcasting with ESPN and ABC.
The NHL said Smits was making his debut with the New York Rangers and listed ESPN as the broadcaster.
