According to The Athletic’s account of Villa’s two goals, Alysson needed only one minute to put the visitors ahead. The ball was worked out to him, and he fired through goalkeeper Senne Lammens’ legs. Lammens then failed to hold a long-range effort, leaving Nicolas Jackson to tap home for Villa’s second.

ESPN FC put the two-goal lead at three minutes and 42 seconds. The Premier League called it the earliest any team had been 2-0 ahead against Manchester United in a Premier League match.
