Kucherov says communication and respect were the problem, citing only two conversations with GM Julien BriseBois in four months.
Kucherov said BriseBois told him he was free to walk on July 1. He wants a change of scenery but said he'll keep helping his teammates while he's with Tampa Bay. BriseBois said Friday that the Lightning do not intend to trade him.
