TLDR

In a September 30 post crediting SIC Notícias, AlNassrTribune said Ronaldo was not expected to face Denmark under that plan. @AlNassrTribune🚨 @SICNoticias Cristiano Ronaldo is not expected to play in Thursday's match against Denmark, in accordance with what was agreed with Jorge Jesus and Pedro Proença. Before the first of Portugal's four Nations League matches, Ronaldo, Jorge Jesus and Proença had already discussed his involvement, with an agreement that the forward would play in the first and final matches, meaning he would not feature against Norway or Denmark. The possibility of Ronaldo remaining at the Cidade do Futebol was even considered. After the first game, Jorge Jesus apparently changed his mind and Ronaldo could have been used against Norway. However, the match ultimately convinced the coach that using Ronaldo should not be part of the game plan. The captain felt wronged by the situation.
