The Baltimore Ravens announced Nov. 3 that Joe Fagnano would start. Adam Schefter reported that coach Jesse Minter made the announcement and that Fagnano is set to start Thursday night, Nov. 5, against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The NFL identified Fagnano as Baltimore’s Week 9 starter.
The decision follows a loss to Buffalo in which Fagnano replaced backup Tyler Huntley, according to Yahoo Sports. Yahoo Sports described Fagnano as an undrafted rookie and reported that he completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and one interception in that game.
Ravens starting QB Lamar Jackson suffered a right thumb injury on his throwing hand in the first offensive play and was ruled out. Backup Tyler Huntley exited with a toe injury, forcing undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano (UConn) to make his regular-season NFL debut as emergency third-string QB.
The team listed an ankle issue Oct. 24; Sam Cohn wrote that Snoop Huntley would be at quarterback.
The Baltimore Sun reports Jackson missed Friday's open portion of practice and hasn't practiced since his October 4 injury.
