@NHLConnor McDavid has 23 points in eight games...
@PierreVLeBrunAs it stands today, and we know it keeps changing, McDavid would be the 13th-highest AAV in the NHL next season at $12.5 million behind Makar ($20.4M), Celebrini ($18.8M), L. Carlsson ($18M), Kaprizov ($17M), Bedard ($15M), Draisaitl ($14M), Fantilli ($13.75M), Gauthier ($13.5M), Eichel ($13.5M), Matthews ($13.25M), Debrincat ($13M) and MacKinnon ($12.6M). That doesn’t account for new contracts eventually from Kucherov, Q. Hughes and J. Robertson. There’s a world in which McDavid begins next fall outside the top 15 cap hits. No. 97 knew he was giving the Oil a bargain when he extended, because he wants to win.
