The Patriots placed wide receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, the NFL posted on Oct. 19. The Boston Globe reported that he would miss at least four games, beginning with a matchup against the Bears in Chicago, followed by games against the Dolphins, Packers and Lions.
According to the Globe, Doubs caught a first-quarter touchdown in the Patriots’ 26-19 win over the Jets, landed hard on his right shoulder and left the game. New England initially listed him as questionable to return with a shoulder injury, then downgraded him to out. Doubs led the Patriots with 261 receiving yards through six games, the Globe reported, and fellow wide receiver A.J. Brown had recently returned.
Ian Rapoport reported on Oct. 19 that the Patriots also signed defensive back Elliott Davison to their 53-man roster from the practice squad.
