Five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright of Mandarin in Jacksonville, Florida, announced his commitment to Miami on Nov. 5, 2026. He also announced plans to move from the 2028 recruiting class to 2027, Alex Martin reported for USA TODAY.
Wright's announcement is a commitment, not a signing or enrollment announcement.
His rankings belong to the 2028 class
USA TODAY reported that its USA TODAY Sports composite and the 247Sports Composite each ranked Wright No. 3 overall in the 2028 class. ESPN's post described him as the No. 1 overall prospect in the @SCNext Class of 2028 while also reporting his move to 2027.
Those figures come from different ranking systems. Neither establishes where Wright will rank in the 2027 class.
Miami's early connection and Wright's production
Miami was the first program to offer Wright, and its coaching staff continued to prioritize him during his recruitment, according to USA TODAY. He also has a connection through Mandarin quarterback Knox Annis, who committed to the Hurricanes in April 2026.
“For me, knowing a lot of people already on staff just made it better,” Wright told the Florida Times-Union, as quoted by USA TODAY.
Through 10 games of his junior season, Wright had 46 receptions for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns, USA TODAY reported on Nov. 5. That was already one more receiving yard and one more touchdown than his reported sophomore totals: 46 catches for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2025. The junior figures are a 10-game snapshot, not final-season totals.
