Briscoe wins Stage 1, then stays out on another split pit call

Jeff Gluck reported that Chase Briscoe and Christopher Bell stayed out during an early split pit strategy while Denny Hamlin pitted. Briscoe won Stage 1, followed by Bell and Ryan Blaney. Gluck later said Briscoe stayed out again during another split pit call. Chris Gayle told Hamlin the cars that had just pitted had a “very low chance” of making it all the way on their tires. In a subsequent update, Bob Pockrass said Briscoe was second and had reported that a tire felt weird.
