A reported fifth-round-pick deal for JJ McCarthy and the case for patience
A user says getting McCarthy for a fifth-round pick restored their optimism after Dart went down and Jameis struggled. They want McCarthy to have a few weeks to learn the system.
TLDR
A user who preferred Spencer Rattler to JJ McCarthy before the draft now calls getting McCarthy for a fifth-round pick a “massive organizational W.” They say their optimism had faded after Dart went down and Jameis struggled. They want McCarthy to learn the system before playing and think the odds of trading him for more than the team paid next spring are probably greater than 50%.
