Antonelli stretched his early São Paulo Grand Prix lead to 7.9 seconds over Norris, with Russell closing on second. ChrisMedlandF1 reported that gap in a 17:21 UTC update on Nov. 8, 2026, after Norris had recovered the position from Lawson.
The opening corners had put Norris behind both drivers at Interlagos, Brazil. F1 reported that Antonelli passed Norris to lead into Turn 1, while Lawson took second from Norris into Turn 2. In its opening-lap update, F1 described Lawson as fighting Antonelli for the lead.
Norris subsequently repassed Lawson after side-by-side racing through the middle sector, ChrisMedlandF1 reported. Hadjar also got past Lawson, taking third into Turn 1. That changed the order behind Antonelli, but Norris still had five seconds to make up in ChrisMedlandF1's 17:13 UTC update.
F1's lap 11 update put Antonelli first, Norris second and Russell third after Russell passed Hadjar. With 71 laps scheduled, those were early running positions rather than finishing places.
The next update put Antonelli's advantage at 7.9 seconds, up from the earlier five-second gap. Norris had regained second, but ChrisMedlandF1 now reported Russell closing on that position.
