The Baltimore Ravens continue to receive trade inquiries about Derrick Henry and tell teams he is unavailable, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Nov. 8. That reported position holds as the NFL trade deadline approaches on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. ET.
Schefter's Nov. 7 ESPN report described Henry as not expected to be traded. League sources told ESPN that the Ravens had recently informed the running back they had no intention of trading him.
ESPN linked the speculation about Henry's availability to injuries that sidelined Baltimore's top two quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Tyler “Snoop” Huntley. Huntley is out for the season, while the Ravens hope Jackson can return later this season.
Baltimore was 4-5 after a 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, Nov. 5. ESPN reported that it was the Ravens' third consecutive loss by at least 20 points, a first in franchise history.
Henry's postgame comments focused on improving with Baltimore. According to ESPN's account, he said he had not discussed a trade with Ravens management.
“I have not mentioned me going anywhere else,” Henry said. “I'm saying, 'Let's go back to work. Let's try to get better and turn this thing around.'”
