Yahoo traces the allegations to a joint investigation by “Pablo Torre Finds Out” and Mother Jones reporter Kiera Butler. According to Yahoo’s account, the investigation described financial education packages costing about $10,000 to $40,000 after an initial $97 class. Attendees unable to pay upfront were allegedly encouraged to take out credit or draw from retirement accounts.
