Maple Leafs GM John Chayka says no player is untradeable, backs coach over McKenna’s ice time
Sportsnet reports Chayka is open to another major in-season trade while continuing to evaluate the market for a defenceman.
TLDR
Chayka told Sportsnet that improving Toronto’s defensive play does not necessarily require a trade; he cited progress within the team. The Hockey News reports he praised Easton Cowan despite saying no player is untradeable, and supported coach Jim Hiller’s handling of 18-year-old Gavin McKenna’s ice time.
