A second-season breakthrough
The Golden State Valkyries completed a 3-0 semifinal sweep with an 87-77 road win over the Las Vegas Aces, sending Golden State to the WNBA Finals in only its second season. The WNBA called the Valkyries the fastest expansion team in league history to compete for a title.
The sweep eliminated the reigning champions and secured the first Finals appearance in Valkyries franchise history.
