Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Nov. 4, 2026, listing more than $3.45 million in debts against $677,054 in personal assets, Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz reported for USA TODAY.
Much of the debt was tied to Rice's 2024 Dallas car crash, the report stated. But the financial breakdown covers more than crash-related liabilities: USA TODAY reported more than $3.27 million in unsecured debts across civil litigation, business debt and consumer debt.
Among the assets listed were a Super Bowl LVIII ring valued at $160,000 and a 2023 Mercedes-Benz valued at $53,800, according to USA TODAY's account of the filing.
A crash victim holds the largest claim
Kathryn Kuykendall had the largest outstanding claim among the 20 listed creditors, at more than $979,000, USA TODAY reported.
Kuykendall was riding in an Uber struck by Rice's car. USA TODAY reported that her attorney, Marc Lenahan, told WFAA in July 2025 that she had not received payment after Rice agreed to a $1 million settlement. That payment account dates to July 2025, rather than the bankruptcy filing in November 2026.
The crash occurred in March 2024. Citing an arrest warrant, USA TODAY reported that Rice was driving a Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph on a Dallas highway before causing the six-car crash.
