Arsenal's challenges to Max Dowman's red card and punishment dismissed; three-match ban stands

An independent regulatory commission dismissed claims of wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment for Arsenal's Max Dowman, according to an FA statement carried by The Standard. Dowman, 16, was sent off during Arsenal's EFL Cup match against Fleetwood Town on Oct. 27 and will be suspended for three matches.

Football London reported that Dowman kicked out in retaliation against Fleetwood's Harrison Neal. The Standard described the incident more cautiously, saying Dowman “seemed to kick out” during a brawl.

The FA said the commission's written reasons for its decisions “will be published in due course.”
