Senators propose $5 million annual cap on college coaches' pay
CBS Sports says the proposal from Sens. Cory Booker and Chris Murphy is very unlikely to make the final version of the Protect College Sports Act.
TLDR
CBS Sports reports that Sens. Cory Booker and Chris Murphy introduced an amendment that would bar colleges from paying a varsity-team coach more than $5 million a year. It would apply to coaches who agree to contracts on or after the law's enactment. The outlet says the amendment is very unlikely to be included in the final bill, warning that it could weaken bipartisan support and would face antitrust challenges.
