New York Giants reportedly releasing running back Najee Harris

The New York Giants are releasing running back Najee Harris, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. In his post, Rapoport called it “another RB shakeup.”

New York made Harris the starter for Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints, but he had only four carries, according to theScore. Yahoo Sports put his total at two rushing yards. The Giants also used Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary in the game, while usual starter Cam Skattebo had no carries, theScore reported.

After the game, a Greg Johnson post embedded by theScore quoted Harris on the Giants' running back rotation: “It’s hard to get in a rhythm with one or two plays.”

Harris joined the Giants on a one-year deal in August, theScore reported. TSN says he played five games for New York and recorded 99 rushing yards on 31 attempts with no touchdowns this season.
