USGS Landsat is marking five years since Landsat 9 launched from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base on September 27, 2021. In its September 25 anniversary update, the agency says the joint USGS–NASA mission has completed more than 26,000 orbits, with over 1.3 million Landsat 9 data products available through USGS portals. The update also revisits a view of the Himalayas captured on October 31, 2021—the satellite’s first day of data collection.
