Survey analysis: 11.4% of US adults 65-plus who used cannabis in the past year met cannabis use disorder criteria

News-Medical reports that a UC San Diego analysis estimated 8.9% of US adults aged 65 and older had used cannabis in the past year. Of those users, 11.4% met criteria for cannabis use disorder, a pattern of use that causes problems or interferes with daily life. Most cases were mild. Older adults who used cannabis on at least 300 days in the past year were almost four times more likely to meet the criteria than those who used it less frequently.
