Brain neurons may be critical for viable pregnancies in mice

New Scientist reports that researchers found a tiny group of brain neurons fundamental to viable pregnancies in mice. Gene-expression levels in these neurons changed more than 30-fold during mice’s first pregnancies. The neurons are also present in human female brains and could offer clues about unexplained recurrent miscarriages and IVF difficulties.
