Vegetation on the northern Antarctic Peninsula reportedly expanded by more than 1,000% over 35 years

A post describing research by the University of Exeter, the University of Hertfordshire and the British Antarctic Survey says vegetation, mostly mosses, spread across the northern Antarctic Peninsula between 1986 and 2021. It links the change to climate warming and says growing moss could alter soil conditions, while newly available habitat could help non-native species establish.
