Single-cell lung analysis points to AT2 cells and macrophages in inherited non-small cell lung cancer risk

Cell Genomics reports that more than half of the genetic links to gene expression and associated genes it identified were cell-type specific and largely undetectable in mixed-cell analyses. Combining the data with non-small cell lung cancer association studies, the authors point to AT2 epithelial cells and macrophages as major mediators of inherited risk. They nominate 52 potential causal genes, including 24 novel candidates, not proven causes.
