Earth and Mars appear to have formed from different building blocks

Phys.org reports that Earth appears to owe at least 75% of its mass to two pebble-grown young planets, while Mars appears to owe roughly 75% to larger rocky building blocks. Both formed in the same cloud of gas and dust.
