PsyPost reports that a study of about 1,000 US undergraduates ages 18–29 found no significant difference in environmental concern across the articles participants read. But devoted fans shown an article naming Swift’s jet emissions reported more rationalization than devoted fans who read about celebrity emissions generally. That rationalization was linked to lower concern about carbon dioxide emissions and weaker stated intentions to take climate-friendly action.
