IV vitamin C and mistletoe linked to lower mortality hazards in breast cancer palliative care cohort
In Cancers, researchers report adjusted associations among 748 women, but cannot establish that either therapy prolonged life.
TLDR
Researchers writing in Cancers analyzed 748 women receiving integrative palliative care at a Seoul hospital. IV vitamin C and mistletoe were associated with roughly 44% and 54% lower adjusted hazards of death, respectively. Both were given alongside conventional cancer care. Published Sept. 23, the observational study cannot show that either therapy caused a survival benefit; its authors call for further investigation.
