Man with rare motor neuron disease reportedly improves after RNA therapy

A man with an uncommon form of motor neuron disease experienced improved symptoms after receiving a drug designed to target the mutation causing his condition, Nature reports. He was the first person to receive the drug. Nature says gene-targeting treatments could also be used to treat other people with rare forms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
