I've been trying to figure out what it is about this community that sets it apart from other online watering holes. Could be that a relatively large proportion of us are on the spectrum. It reminds me of the workplace culture of chemistry labs, compared with non-technical jobs.
Robert Sapolski is a retired Stanford professor of endocrinology and primatology. He misses teaching so he's podcasting on youtube now. Here he lays out the logic of how the trait evolved and what it's good for. Best explanation I've heard, much more explanatory than blaming it on vaccines.
