Demonstrating Rocket Fuel Transfer in Space

Astronauts Matthew Dominick and Don Pettit demonstrated a method for transferring rocket fuel in microgravity using water bottles, water, and a fizzy tablet. This demonstration highlights the challenges of preserving cryogenic fuels in space and the need for further research into fuel transfer and storage. Data from previous Zero Boil-off Tank (ZBOT) experiments are being used to guide future spacecraft designs, with the next iteration of ZBOT set to arrive at the station later this year.
