One participant with ALS reportedly reaches 75 words per minute in Neuralink speech-restoration work

In an Oct. 28 post, Neuralink reported that one participant with ALS reached 75 words per minute with a 5.8% word error rate on a 125,000-word vocabulary in their first week. The company said Dr. Nader Pouratian presented the result at the 2026 Annual NEALS Meeting. These are company-reported figures for one participant, and Neuralink says its devices are investigational and not approved by regulators.
