Frogs regrow functional limbs after 24-hour drug cocktail treatment
Adult African clawed frogs, normally unable to regenerate limbs, grew working legs after a one-day five-drug cocktail treatment.
TLDR
In Tufts University research, frogs grew legs after a one-day treatment in a silicone BioDome. About 18 months later, the legs could be used for swimming and responded to stimuli. In a reply on X about whether longer or repeated treatments could produce more complete digits, a researcher says that work is underway and the research is moving to mammals.
