49 exoplanet candidates reportedly identified in TESS data

Primitive Research says it identified 49 exoplanet candidates from TESS light curves of more than 19 million stars. It says all 49 passed initial screening and that it submitted one to the TESS TOI Vetting Team, holding the rest at the team’s request. The group is writing a methodology paper with astrophysicists and plans to release its data and analyses. Its next goal is finding a nearby transiting habitable-zone candidate whose atmosphere could be studied.
