Chinese biotechs make their pitch at Jefferies’ first Shanghai investor conference

STAT reports that Jefferies’ first investor conference in Shanghai gave Chinese biotech executives a stage to promote their work. Four executives joked about how much faster, cheaper and more efficient drug development was in China than elsewhere. Abbisko co-founder Zhui Chen said his company finished a trial of a drug licensed to Merck KGaA in 11 months, and that Merck executives asked whether Abbisko could train their staff.
