Kicking off Robot Builders
There is an amazing community of people building replicas of StarWars droids all around the world. Most of that action happens on www.astromech.net and in person at some Droid Builder meet ups. It would be nice to not only expand that world to Digg, but to invite other kinds of robot builders into the mix. A lot of what happens in an R2 is similar to what would make other kinds of robots work. Wood working, 3D printing, molding and casting, electronics, programming, melting things that shouldn't melt, metal working, designing, and using tools for things they were never meant to be used for!
If you have a robot of your own, or just want to get started, let's make this a place to make that happen. I'll try to share more info about my own build and gather some good resources here to get you going.
I'm not sure how to best share external links on Digg, so I'll try to make this easy to copy and paste:

Good luck and happy building! If I can do it you DEFINITELY can do it.
