"I've spent days in a hide" – 17-year-old photographer globally recognized for capturing great hornbill in flight

A 17-year-old photographer from Beijing, Lisiqi Ye, has been awarded Youth Photographer of the Year for capturing an intimate portrait of a great hornbill in flight, showcasing the bird's complex breeding rituals. Using Nikon's Z9 and a 600mm lens, Lisiqi spent days in a hide to capture the rare moment, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts for hornbills threatened by habitat loss and hunting.
