Eagles Offering 'Complete Autonomy' Seems Like A Bad Idea
Philadelphia's perceived top-tier offensive coordinator candidates are interviewing the Eagles, demanding complete autonomy over the offense. The Eagles, with five consecutive postseason berths and a Lombardi Trophy, seem to be considering this despite past issues with autonomy leading to turnovers. The situation raises concerns about potential conflicting directives under Nick Sirianni.
Apparently coaches are asking for the autonomy that Moore had to run the offense. But realistically it wasn't that much and as the article points out Moore's scheme had to take a backseat to Sirianni's no turnover philosophy after week 5.
I am fine with coaching autonomy if it fits, but I really just want more creativity on offense. Oh and not getting away from doing what is successful.
