Best bang for buck upgrade (Ryzen 5 Pro 3400G)
Current setup in a large Corsair case (self built in April 2021).
Ryzen 5 Pro 3400G with onboard Radeon Vega Graphics
ASUS TUF Gaming B450+PLUS II motherboard
32GB (4 x 8GB) Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 RAM 3200MHz
Samsung 970 Evo 500GB SSD (110GB free)
Windows 11 installed
I love sitting with about 80 Chrome tabs open. :-)
This is mainly an office / work from home machine, no gaming.
Very occasional bit of Lightroom.
Task manager is showing 26GB of 30GB used (87%) (assume other 2GB is onboard GFX)
CPU only peaks around 30% when doing stuff in tabs
But the machine seems sluggish doing things in tabs, especially large footprints, like editing wordpress pages on sites. Definitely slower than some the other PC & Mac I use.
With the price of RAM so high, i'm wondering whether perhaps looking at a CPU upgrade would help? (any recommendations?)
Or do I need to bite the bullet and upgrade the whole thing?
Thank you.
