What If It Doesn't Get Easier?
An interesting question over at asking, “if you could live in another country for a year with everything paid for, which country would you choose?” Two responses struck me: @deroque mentioned moving to Spain from Canada when they were 33 with a 3 month old. And @superpixels wished they could make a similar move, but that being over 50 made it so much harder.
This is the inverse of how this conversation generally goes – “I can’t do the thing now because I have responsibilities and kids, so I’ll wait until I’m older; it’ll be easier then.” We’ve heard something similar when we talk about our No Vacation Required life. But @superpixels is pointing out that for many reasons, big change doesn’t always get easier when you are older. And for many, later in life never actually arrives. So, here’s the question:
What are you putting off because you think it will be easier “later in life?”
Side Note: Shout out to @Caeruleus for their response… Norway was our answer as well!
