3 Trends That Make Moving Abroad Harder In 2026
I mostly agree with the blog that moving abroad is getting harder in 2026, at least on paper. More rules, more requirements, and some programs disappearing definitely raise the bar.
But honestly, I think this shift is a good thing.
For years, a lot of people moving abroad, especially digital nomads, were living in grey areas. Tourist visas, visa runs, pretending not to work remotely. It worked until it didn’t, and it always came with stress and uncertainty.
Thailand is a good example. The Destination Thailand Visa makes it much easier for nomads to stay long term and work remotely without pretending they are “just tourists.” That is a big upgrade from the old grey-area setup.
So yes, it is harder if you want easy, no-questions-asked entry. But if you want stability and the ability to live freely, 2026 might actually be better than before.
What do you think?
