Mining in BWCA

A little background, a Chilean mining company has been trying for years to get established near the Boundary Waters. If you don’t know about the BWCA, it’s one of the few areas in mainland USA that you can get away from artificial light and human based noise. This company has a history of violating environmental protections. The prediction is history will repeat itself and it will leave the Minnesota taxpayers stuck with cleaning up the environmental mess.

The estimate is that the mining is worth about 40 billion to Chile and you may ask, what does MN get? About 200 jobs for those people to pay taxes.
