Yellow weather warning extended as rain and wind set to hit more of England
The Met Office has extended a yellow weather warning for heavy and persistent rain and strong winds across more parts of England, including the Midlands, south west, and eastern England. The warning advises of potential flooding and travel disruptions, with up to 50mm of rain expected in isolated spots. The Environment Agency has issued three flood warnings and 40 flood alerts for England. The UK Government has also activated its cold weather payments scheme for pensioners and low-income households.
