Maxima is a free and open-source replacement for the EA Desktop Launcher for Linux and Windows, still in pre-pre-pre-alpha stage. It offers features like EA Authentication, game downloading/updating, DRM & licensing support, multiplayer game support, syncing EA cloud saves, and more. It includes CLI, TUI, and GUI frontends, with macOS support in progress. It's currently used by the sister project, KYBER. However, it's not yet ready for standalone use, and support is not provided. Contributions and bug-fixes are welcome.
