Linux gaming on a ROG laptop
I'm considering part time Linux gaming. I've run RHEL servers for years at work, and have worked on several Pi OS home an type projects as well. So overall moderately familiar with Linux.
I also had a Steam Deck for a while and enjoyed that. Now I have a ROG Strix 16 laptop with 5070 ti and I know that historically nvidia drivers for Linux were a sticking point but I guess they're getting better?
If I wanted to dual boot windows and Linux on there, what's my best avenue. Honestly I'm forced to tinker enough at work, I prefer stability at home which is why I've stuck with windows on my home computer. For all the hate it's gotten, I can just turn on my laptop install steam, and boom I'm done. No repos, no work arounds, patches, compatibility layers, it just works.
That being said, if there's a distro with good gaming support and works well with nvidia gpus. Hit me please! Also, suggestions on dual boot setup that won't wreck my windows install that would be great too. I remember in years past fighting with GRUB after removing my linux install to get my windows back booting normally.
