マリウス . A Word on Omarchy
Omarchy is a pre-configured Arch Linux setup created by David Heinemeier Hansson, marketed as an opinionated and secure desktop environment. However, the system is riddled with security flaws, lacks proper configuration, and includes unnecessary components. The installation process is complex, and the documentation is inadequate, leaving users with a visually appealing but hollow and potentially harmful experience.
I use omarchy myself but thought this was an interesting perspective. Cool website too!
I definitely agree re:config files. It was very frustrating trying to figure out why my configs kept getting messed up or keybinds moved around. I lost an entire comprehensive keybind profile early on after my first update because I didn’t realize I had to recreate the bindings.conf in user space and then edit that.
