I’m coming back to Linux. Which distro should I run?

Back in the day I got started with Mandriva, and then moved to Gentoo (unmasked even) and learned so much from the distro. I also worked on the launch of Ubuntu, but never used it much. That was then. Coming back many years later has me wondering what the best distro is to get started with again? I’m not a dev, but will use the machine for some gaming. I’ve ruled out Omarchy (too opinionated), but open to anything else!
