Why my favorite Linux distro is slowing down - and I'm thrilled about it

Linux Mint, a popular Linux distribution, is slowing down its release cadence to focus on more ambitious development. The next release, Mint 23, will follow Ubuntu 26.04 in April 2026, with Linux Mint maintaining support for both X11 and Wayland window managers. The Mint team is also working on a new Administration Tool for user management and account details, aiming to simplify and improve the user experience.
