Philosophy as Practice for Lifestyle, and as Lifestyle: Seeking Discussion
<<TL:DR: Are the members in this community okay with philosophical queries, and discourse, about matters spirituality as such being made here in this community?>>
Alright. So, this community is about fashion, relationships, home, wellness, and self-improvement. Cool.
Now, one way of concerning oneself with these things is via insight. One seeks awareness of something insightful for matters related to fashion, relationships, home, wellness, and self-improvement; and this so that one may practice what one comes to realize.
When one actively seeks to become aware of something insightful for lifestyle, and then finds one’s whole lifestyle being guided by such practice, and being that practice, then necessarily one is practicing “Philosophy” for lifestyle, and as lifestyle.
Now, you may say: “My dude! That’s not what ‘philosophy’ is. You use that word, but I don’t think you know what it means. You’re a silly sausage.” And to that I will reply: I am not a silly sausage. I’m a cat! I’m a kitty cat! And I meow, meow, meow. And I meow, meow, meow! And I am using the word philosophy as it has always been understood traditionally. Sure. I am not using it how it has come to be understood today. Today philosophy is only the rational conception of the world. To be concerned with rational conception of the world, and that for its own sake, is what philosophy is. But I am like: no! No my dudes! That will not do! Philosophy is traditionally understood as “the love of wisdom”. And wisdom is insight. And something is insightful only when it is relative for an end. And thus, the concern for insight relative to all things that concern our being (our lifestyle; our spirituality) is what philosophy is. And philosophy is necessarily rational only because we have to concern ourself with what is, and what can be, so that we may come to realize, and propose that sweet delicious insight! Rational is the tool by which we come to become aware, verify, and also communicate! Philosophy is not mysticism. Philosophy is the love of wisdom, and thus the activity for insight; and this activity done using the tool of reason. And sure, imagination/poetics/rhetoric has use in such activity, also; but we’ll leave that topic for another time. But here my point is that Philosophy is legitimately what I claim it to be. I’m not being a silly sausage when I claim that Philosophy is a practice for lifestyle, and is a lifestyle.
Now, you may say: “Alright. Whatever. I don’t care. You may be right. Who cares. Whatever. So what’s your deal? Why are you saying all this? Why are you trying to persuade me to this particular perspective? What are you selling? Is it drugs? Are you on drugs? I am not interested if it’s drugs!”
I am not selling drugs! And as much as it may appear that I am on drugs, I assure you I am not on drugs. I’m just bored. And I’m looking for a place to have philosophical discourse (some “coffee talk”). I’m just a cute & adorable cat that’s looking for a place to have chats & meows about matters insightful related to fashion, relationships, home, wellness, and self-improvement.
You may reply: “Dude! You may be interested in philosophy, sure. But what you’re actually on about is spirituality! This is about lifestyle! This is not about spirituality! Shew! Go away, you dirty cat!” And to that I will reply: yeah! Look! Lifestyle is what spirituality is. And spirituality is what lifestyle is. Spirituality is about one’s spirit. One’s spirit is about one’s being. One’s being is about matters how one thinks, feels, and behaves. Thus, spirituality is about how one is to think, feel, and behave. And what on earth is lifestyle but about matters thinking, feeling, and behaving, and choice in those matters? Thus, lifestyle is spirituality. And philosophy is thus for the practice of lifestyle/spirituality, and is necessarily a lifestyle/spirituality.
Look. This “dirty cat” understands that “lifestyle” is a broad term. And what I say, and my approach to it is “niche”. And such approach via such perspective deserves its own community. I intend on creating such a community when community creation opens up. The word on the street is that it’ll open up somewhere early next year.
Here’s the deal. I’m bored. And would like a place to “coffee talk”. And thought i’d test the waters by making this post, and asking the members here what they think of my perspective, and if they’d be open to philosophical posts & discussion here about the nature of all things lifestyle/spiritual, and working for ways of being concerning lifestyle/spirituality; till community creation opens up and such “niche” discourse may be moved to a place where it belongs?
Let me know what you cool cats, and kittens think.
